FAMOUS YACHT RACE TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED IN FIRST EVENT RAINBOW IN THE LEAD (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) NEWPORT, September 15. (Received Sept. 16, at 0.50 p.m.) The first race for America's Cup was unfinished in the time limit. Rainbow was estimated to have a lead near the finish of half a mile. The wind did not exceed nine knots. SERIES OF SEVEN RACES TIME LIMIT IMPOSED (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 14. (Received Sept. 16, at 5.5 p.m.) For the fifteenth time in 64 years a representative of Great Britain will begin a challenge to regain the America's Cup. The race is the first of a series of seven to be sailed alternatively over two courses of 30 nautical miles. The maximum time allowed for completion of the course in each race is 5i hours.
