Lancashire's-first air service for goods lias been introduced by the inauguration of a. daily London-Manchester freight service. Twenty-two Manchester firms made used of the service on the 'first day, when two aeroplanes travelled from Haviworth, Middlesex, to Barton aerodrome, Manchester, in 77 minutes. After their cargoes had been released, the aeroplanes Mere loaded again with goods for London, and left immediately. They are capable of carrying a commercial load of 12cwt. It is intended to link the Manchester-London service with routes connecting with Glasgow, Ireland and the West of England.
