“CHILDREN IN UNIFORM”

PRODUCED.BY MISS WINKEL. Herself an artist of ability on the local stage, Miss Anita Winkel is turning her attention to the training of young folk in the art of appearing before the public, in her forthcoming production of Barbara Burnham's adaptation of the great three-act play by Cnrista Wiusioe, " Children In Uniform,” she will demonstrate her skill in developing the personality and deepening the imagination of the 30 odd girls she has chosen to interpret the work. Everything points to a highly successful season of “ Children In uniform ” in the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week. Christa .Winsloe ia an author of note, and with “Children In Uniform'' gained the first place in the list of the best plays of 1932-33. The theme treated in this instance is subtle to a degree, and contains many surprises that playgoers will appreciate. In order to gam the necessary effect Hiss Winkel is having special scenery designed and constructed for the production, while the frocking is being manufactured by an expert in this line. The proceeds from the production are to be placed in the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association’s funds. Incidental music is to be played by the D.I.C. Orchestra under the leadership of Mr C. A. Martin. An advertisement elsewhere in this issue announces the box plan arrangements.
