ACCURACY IN QUOTATIONS
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —About twelve months ago a correspondent signing himself “ Plato ” (Kurow) supplied the omissions from a reported address by W. J. Poison. It was subsequently proved that Mr Poison acknowledged the source of his information and that the omissions were due to. abridged reports. I draw attention to this incident to show that there was a sentiment in Kurow in favour of correct quotations and of a nom dc plume—to which ‘Dr D. 0. M < Millau in the controversy over the Burke quotation now takes exception.—l am, etc., Observer.
