FAMINE IN RUSSIA

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —-Those who advocate a foim of Soviet Government for New Zealand or think we should have anything to do with Russian methods, may find interest in the following, which is an exact copy from the well-known British Weekly of August 2 (page 362): — ■ Dr Rushbrooke and Dr Lewis Robertson send to Wednesday’s Times an appeal on behalf of sufferers from famine In Southern Russia. They say that In 1933 at least 3,000,000 people, and probably twice as many, died of starvation in these districts. They perished as a result of the policy of the Soviet Government itself. “ The situation," say the writers of the letter, "la one which Christian people, aware of the facts, will continue to watch with great anxiety." —f am, etc..
