WEATHER REPORT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 31. The following is the official weather report at 4 p.m.:—

Port Whangarei is due at Dunedin to-day from northern ports to discharge and load general ‘ cargo. She Is to sail tills evening for Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei, via ports. Mlro, auxiliary ketch, is expected to arrive in the Lower Harbour to-morrow or on Monday from Auckland and Napier. After discharging explosives she will come to Dunedin to load general cargo for Auckland. Port Waikato is due at Dunedin about September 5 from northern ports to load general cargo for Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei. Tamatea, which completed overhaul and repairs In the small dock at Port Chalmers on Thursday, came to Dunedin yesterday morning to load bunker coal. The vessel, which is employed in the passenger service between Bluff and Stewart Island, sailed at 1 p.m. for Bluff. ‘ WAIKOUAITI DUE TO-DAY. The Union Company advises that the Walkouatti Is due at Dunedin to-day from Newcastle and Sydney, via Bluff, to discharge general cargo. She Is to sail on Monday for Timaru. Lyttelton and Oamaru to complete discharge. t CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. Messrs Keith Ramsay, Ltd., advises that the Abel Tasman has been fixed to load at Now South Wales ports early in September for New Zealand. She is scheduled to leave Sydney on September 14, and her ports of discharge will probably be Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. RANGITANE FOR LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rangltane. having completed loading at Auckland, left the northern port yesterday for London. via the Panama canal. THE CITY OP WINCHESTER. Reported to have left Hampton Roads on August 25, the City of Winchester Is en route from New York to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia. She Is due at Auckland about September 19. HERTFORD LEAVES PANAMA. The Hertford, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, arrived at Colon on August 27, and left Panama on August 28. She is due at Auckland on September 17. * TAINUI LEAVES BALBOA. The Talnul, en route from Southampton to Wellington and Auckland, sailed from Balboa on the evening of August 27. She Is due at Wellington on September 18. PORT HOBART FROM NEW YORK. The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Hobart arrived at Auckland on Wednesday from New York. The vessel is expected at Wellington to-morrow, and will then proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. TANKER WINAMAC FROM SUMATRA. The Vacuum Oil Company arrived at Auckland on Thursday from Sumatra. The vessel will unload a quantity of her bulk-petrol cargo at Auckland, and the remainder at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. PORT DUNEDIN FROM LIVERPOOL. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship J’ort Dunedin is reported to have left Glasgow on August 25 for Liverpool to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Nelson. The vessel Is scheduled to clear Liverpool to-day, and she Is due at Auckland early In October. TEKOA FROM LIVERPOOL. , The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tekoa arrived at Dunedin yesterday from Liverpool, via Cristobal, Panama, Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the remainder of her Home cargo is being discharged. After completion of discharge the vessel will load for London and west coast ports of Great Britain at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. She is scheduled to clear Auckland for London, via Panama, on September 30. PERSONAL ITEMS. Captain W. Dawson, late of the Karamea. Is now in command of the Talnul. Messrs P. E. Ryan and G. Langley have been engaged as extra officers on the Rangatlra. Mr D. J. Rutter Is now third officer of the Klwitea. Mr E. H. Deed has been engaged as first mate of the Kalmal, relieving Mr L. Glllan.
