THE WEATHER
There was a continuation of fine weather iu Dunedin yesterday, but the conditions were again cloudy. A light south-west wind was blowing, and the maximum temperature was 54 degrees. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, August 81. There was a continuation of fine weather to-day, but the conditions were cloudy and threatening after mid-day. A light breeze was blowing all day from the west. The barometer was falling until late in the afternoon, when it steadied at 80.20 in. WELLINGTON, August 31. Strong and gusty north-westerly winds blew throughout the day, reaching a velocity of 40 miles per hour. The weather was dull and threatening. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 53.9 degrees, the maximum for the day being 55.4 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, August 31. The weather to-day was fine though cloudy. The morning was calm, and there was a light west-south-west breeze in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 56 degrees. The barometer now registers 29.90 in and is rising.
