AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE
NORTH OF ENGLAND BAN DOMINION WATCHING THE POSITION (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 31. Some concern has been expressed in New Zealand over the proposed boycott of Australian goods by provision dealers in the North of England. Although the cablegrams have made no mention of the possibility of New Zealand goods being brought under the ban, it is considered that there is danger of produce from New Zealand being confused with produce from Australia in the minds of English traders. _ . Inquiries made in official quarters indicate that, up to the present, the New Zealand Government has not deemed it necessary to take any special steps to safeguard the interests of Dominion producers, but it is taken for granted that the High Commissioner will watch _ the position and advise the Government if it is necessary to take action. NO SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. (From Ode Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, August 31. No special instructions have been given to the High Commissioner (Sir James Parr) to watch New Zealand’s interests in the boycott movement in the North of England against Australian goods, said the Prime Minister (Mr Forbes) this evening. “It is expected,” he added, " that the High Commissioner will be alert to the position as a matter of routine.”
