The equipment is that which will be used by Mr Post in his experiments on flights into the stratosphere. The suit is of rubber composition and is hermetically sealed by an external dural nng at the bottom of the shirt, clamped into a similarly grooved ring at the Top of the pants. The headpiece is of dural sheet equipped with valves, so that sea level atmosphere may be introduced into the complete suit and exhausted as used. In this manner lic whole body of the globe-girdling record holder will be supercharged just as his Wasp engine for the relatively long period of time required for the flights which he intends to make. It is Mr Post s intention to fly in the stratosphere in the Centenary Air Race. Photo by courtesy of Vacuum Oil Company.
