On a troublesome wicket O’Reilly bad the fieldsmen clustered round the wicket. Ashdown was smartly caught at short-leg in O’Reilly s second over. Fleetwood-Srnith beat Woolley with his first ball. He tempted Woolley to hit the second, and he was well caught at long-off. There was an unusual incident when Todd, in playing back to O’Reilly, dislodged the bail. Barnett appealed to the bowler's umpire, who replied in the negative. Barnett then pointed out that the bail had been removed and appealed to the umpire at square-leg.
