LAWN TENNIS

ST. ANDREW’S CLUB The annual meeting of the St. Andrew’s Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Vedic Cafe on Wednesday. Mr J. Farquharson occupied the chair, and moving the adoption of the annual re-, port and balance sheet drew attention to the good work done during the season by all office-bearers. He congratulated Miss M. Wilkie on winning the Otago Junior Championship. The election of' office-bearers resulted as follows :—President, Mr J. Farquharson; vice-presidents—-Mr and Mrs H. B. Murray, the Rev. Mr Ryburn, Dr Williams, Messrs D. Wilkie, J. Wilkie, S. P. Cameron and T. Grimsdale; secretary, Mr D. G. Mitchell: treasurer, Mr H. B. Murray; auditor, Mr S. P. Cameron ; club captain and assistant secretary, Mr T. Grimsdale; committee — Miss G. Thomson, Miss J. Mitchell, Miss E. Farquharson, Mrs Lorimer, Miss J. Smith, and Messrs R. A. Morrison, I. Morrison, G. Farmer, A. Francis, and J. Stevenson; delegates to the Otago Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs T. Grimsdale and R. Morrison. Opening day was fixed for to-morrow. After the business a social evening was. held and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Mr Farquharson for his assistance during the year.
