APPEAL FOR BOYS’ WORK. The work of the' Y.M.C.A. has always been acknowledged with affectionate regard by parents and business men ot the town. The training and care of youth especially in the days of anxiety regarding their future is of paramount importance in the civic life of a city. With an equipment complete in every detail to deal with their problems, a trained staff with expert knowledge of all the needs and difficulties of youth, the association maintains its quick, effective, and unspectacular work with remarkable efficiency, Though street days can never be called popular with the public, the financial needs of a great work have always been appreciated by the citizens of Dunedim Thus the Street Day of the \ .M C-A. has always been successful, and the generosity and the courtesy of citizens to ■ the directors is most pronounced. A special committee of the Board of Directors has recently been formed to make research into the continued problem or unemployed in order to evolve some means if possible by which the association can give greater and more complete service. Translating into practice one of the leading ideals which the Y.M.C.A. aims at —namely, a world-wide brotherhood for service to the community and to boys and young men in particular—the Dunedin Young Men’s Christian Association launches its 4000-shillings appeal. Fiom Friday onwards the suburbs will be visited.
