TEXTILE WORKERS

POSITION IN AMERICA GENERAL WALK-OUT ORDERED WASHINGTON, August 26. (Received August 27, at 0 p.m.) Secret instructions for a general walkout in the United States cotton textile industry on September 4 have been sent out to the sectional chieftains by the National Strike Committee of the United Textile Workers. The order, which will be announced officially this .week, will affect nearly 500,000 cotton mil! workers. An additional 300,000 may subsequently bo ordered from mills in the silk, rayon, and woollen industries. In the meantime the Federal Government is seeking, to inaugurate conciliation.
