Y.M.C.A. STREET DAY
COLLECTION ON FRIDAY NEXT The annual street. day and suburban canvass of the Y.M.CA. commences on Friday next, when the ladies of the auxiliary and many willing friends will ask the public to support the association's work for boys. The association has always worked on the principle that it is better to build boys than mend men, and has used, and is using, ite fine equipment in Moray place for this purpose. Business and professional men pay tribute to the service rendered. The work in the community amongst boys; especially unprivileged boys, and in various character building activities, cannot pay dividends except in character. The Y.M.CA. is touching the lives of thousands of young men and boys. It believes that healthy minds and healthy bodies are greatallies to sound citizenship. . V During the years of depression the Y,M.C.A. has carried a great many ot ite boys' membership free, 93 per cent, of, its boy members being the sons of wage earners or those out of work. In Dunedin and throughout the Dominion to-day the Y.M % C.A. has definitely answered the challenge of youth, and is justifying its existence. "-' The Y.M.C.A. was provided by the citizens of Dunedin to work for youth, in their midst. That this work is being done is widely acknowledged by Government, municipality, and organisations. A subscription of Is in city and suburbs on Friday will assist in the perpetuation of work in the service of youth. , ; (
