MASTERTON RACING CLUB

AN INCREASE IN STAKES. (Peb United Press Association.) MASTERTON, August 20. In an endeavour to popularise its fixture the Masterton Racing Club has decided to increase by £685 to £1750 the stakes for its two-day meeting in October. It has also decided to revert to the former system of two dividends, 75 and 25 per cent. The win and place system was characterised as suicidal to country clubs.
