RUSSIAN SINGER’S VISIT

Radio listeners on a recent Sunday in Wellington, according to the Dominion, may have been a little mystified at the convincing manner in which M. Senia Chiostakoff sang with a famous Russian choir. It is perhaps unnecessary to add that the radio authorities had not imported the complete choir. The clever piece of realism was done by a series of admirable superimpositions of the voice of Chiostakoff upon a recording of a well-known choir. It is understood that Chiostakoff sang his part, a solo, with earphones on his head so that he could accurately maintain the time. The result, so far as listeners were concerned, was a striking sueeess. M. Chiostakoff will be heard at the Town Hall on Thursday night, when he will assist at a concert in aid of the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund.
