DUNEDIN GUN CLUB

MONTHLY SHOOT. The monthly shoot of the Dunedin Gun Club was held at the Rutherford range, Green Island, on Saturday. Two shoots of six birds each comprised the day’s sport, but, owing to local conditions, the first shoot spelt the downfall of most of the shooters, while the second shoot was productive of a very high standard of marksmanship, nine out of 20 attaining the possible. 'The following are the detailed scores: First shoot—E. P. Graham (5 breaks) and W. Mori and (5 breaks) equal 1; A. Callaghan (4 breaks) 2. These were followed by live competitors with three breaks. Second shoot —Nine competitors tied for first place and decided to shoot off, anyone missing a bird to fall out. The finalists were: C. E. Turner, U. McDonald, D. J. Gordon, A. Callaghan, A. Fairbairn, V. Walker, J. Dickie, G. Welch and L. Lindsay. The shoot-off resulted in a tie between A. Fairbairn and V. Walker with 12 breaks each. Mr A. Adamson was the referee.
