RESTORATION OF WAGE CUTS

AUCKLAND FIRE BOARD. *Peb United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 25. After seeking the advice of the ter of Internal Affairs (Mr J. A. Young), the Auckland Fire Board decided to-day to restore half of the 10 per cent, cut in salaries, wages, and allowance of its permanent auxiliary and volunteer staffs, The ' Minister said he had no objection to the restoration provided that the estimated expenditure to which his approval had been given was not exceeded. The board decided that the restoration, which will cost £9OO in a full year, shall take effect from October 1.
