MISS JEAN BATTEN
ARRIVAL AT NEW PLYMOUTH. d'F.n United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 25. Miss Jean Batten arrived at the New Plymouth airport at 11.5 a.m. from Palmcrston North, the trip taking two hours. Five Western Federated planes provided an escort. Miss Batten's uncle (Mr E. R. L. Batten) and a large crowd gave her ar. enthusiastic welcome. A round of entertainments has been arranged till Miss Batten leaves for Hawera on Friday.
