TRAGEDY AT VENICE
FIVE PEOPLE DROWNED FERRY RAMS LAUNCH. VENICE, June 22. (Received June 22, at 8 p.m.) Five people were drowned in front of St. Mark’s square when a crowded ferry, the Guidecca, running between Venice and Lido, rammed and sank a motor launch in which there were two boatmen conveying a family of six. Rescue of the launch’s passengers was prevented by the cabin door jamming.
