CYCLE ROAD RACE
CHRISTCHURCH TO DUNEDIN AND BACK. <?tu United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 21. The proposal to held a four-day cycling race was considered by the North Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling, and Axemen's Union last evening, when a committee was set up to report on the result of a conference with the Titnani, Wai.inate, and Dunedin centres on the subject. The chairman reported that the executive had considered the proposal for a four-day race from Christciiurcli, to Dunedin and back in four sections— Christciiurcli to Timaru, Timani to Dunedin, Dunedin to Wnimatc, and Waimate to Cliristehurch. It would be the centre's annual road race. Tbe other centres had been approached, and if assistance were forthcoming from them, it would be possible to give the riders a good preparation for the centenary race round Victoria. The Centenary Council had granted £4O towards the expenses of one accredited New Zealand rider, but suggested that a team of riders should be sent.
