MORNINGTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly'meeting of the Mornington School Committee was held on Monday, Mr A. G. Osborno presiding over a good attendance. The acting headmaster (Mr Swan) reported that the attendance had suffered , considerably during the month through an epidemic of influenza. The average roll was 547, with the average attendance 509. The last week had shown an improvement, the average being 518, which is still very low. During the month the school was inspected by the board’s medical officer, who sent forward recommendations to the committee. Winter sports were in full swing, the school being represented by four yearns in the Association code and four basketball teams.
