OTAGO DISTRICT COUNCIL

The weekly meeting of the Unemployed District Council of Otago was held on Thursday evening- The president (Mr J. E. HastieJ occupied the chair. A very interesting report was received from the Organising Committee, which was complimented on the amount of good work it was doing. The report of Jeputations to St. Kilda unemployed meeting and to the. Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) were received. Arrangements were made for a conference to the executives of all unemployed organisations on Sun- / day. It wag agreed to hold a mass protest meeting on Thursday, June 14. Messrs Hastie and Dale were appointed to interview the Local Unemployment Committee about a complaint from Morxiington. The secretary was instructed to write to the City Council and apply for a permit for a concert to be held in the near future on a Sunday evening.
