Harland, 3 and 2_ Second Round. De Forest defeated D. M'Eweu, jun., 3 and 2. Fischer defeated Moreland, 3 and 2. Jesse Guilford defeated L. Hartley, 4 and 3. Tolley defeated T. P. Whitaker, 3 and 2. ■.-.■■.•• Westland defeated Colonel Tate, 4 and 3. . Dunlap defeated Breault, 1 up. Noel Layton defeated Valentine, 5 and 4. R. S. Walker defeated D. H. R. Martin, 2 up. Wethered defeated I. A. Lyle, 2 and 1. , Carew-Nott (Australia) defeated C. Gibb, 2 up. Lii'nt defeated C. H. M'Kenzie (South Africa), 3 and 2. Eric Fiddian defeated J. Walker, 3 and 2. M'Lean defeated H. M. Gow, 3 and 2. Beritley defeated R. Neill, 3 and 1. Dunlap had a narrow escape in the second round. His compatriot, Breault, an insurance broker, who is spending a holiday in Europe, with no pretensions to gojfing fame, led until the turn. He was all square at the fourteenth, when Dunlap won the fifteenth and had to struggle hard to maintain the advantage, in which he succeeded by outdriving his opponent.Moreland and Fischer proved the excellence of American golf. Fischer led at the twelfth with a birdie 4. He halved the next two with five-yard putts. Fischer crashed his way to victory with birdies 3 at the fifteenth and sixteenth.
