BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE
The Otago branch of the British Drama League will hold its first festival in the Concert Chamber three evenings next week—May 24 to 20. Twelve different groups of amateurs have entered for the competition that has been arranged, and .Miss Elizabeth Blake 'will come from Wellington to act as judge Interest in the festival is very keen in all our amateur groups, and the season tickets at 4s, admitting to reserved seats for all three performances, are said to be selling very fast. The amateur standard in Dunedin has always been considered very high, and an incentive to special effort in the forthcoming festival is provided in the fact that the first prize winner will compete against the winners in all the other sections for the New Zealand Cup. The league.,-ig very anxious that its first festival should be a great success, and, with this in view, the prices of admission have been so settled as to attract large attendances of those interested. Unreserved seats will be available at 2a and Is, and the former of- these may be reserved at the D.I.C. on payment of a small booking fee.
