WHOLESALE PRICES
DECLINE IN BRITAIN FIGURES FOR LAST MONTH. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 9. (Received May 10, at 5.5 p.m.) A decline of 0.9 per cent, is recorded for the last month, in the average of wholesale prices, compared with Marcn. As against April, 1933, an increase of 6 per cent is shown, the index numbers tor the three periods\being 86.2, 87, and 81.3 respectively. The index numbers for food as a whole were the lowest recorded since the present series of index numbers was instituted in 1920, while that for the iron and steel group is the highest since November, 1930:
