WEATHER REPORT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 9. The following Is the official weather report
Parera, from Wellington, was sheltering a; Cape Campbell yesterday owing to bad weather. She is now expected at Dunedin to-morrow to load general cargo for Wellington, Wanganui,' New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. Port Waikato is due at Dunedin on May 15 from northern ports, and Is timed to sail the same day for Wellington, Taurauga, Auckland, and Whangarei. -v Port Whangarei has been fixed to load at Dunedin on May 23 for Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and W'hangarei. Totara is to leave Westport to-day with coal for discharge at Port Chalmers and Dunedin. She is due at this port on Monday. WAIKAWA AT AUCKLAND. The Union Company advises that the Waikawa arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Pacific coast ports. She has Canadian and American cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin. Bluff. Hobart, Melbourne, and Sydney. The vessel is due at Dunedin on May 18. NARBADA FROM EASTERN PORTS. The Union Company advises that the Narbada. from Calcutta, Penang. Singapore, and Samarang, Is due at Auckland this morning. She has Eastern merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and is due here about May 19. WAITAKI LOADS AT RED SEA. The Union Company’s new steamer Waitaki, from Swansea, was due at Safaga Bay (Rod Sea) on May 8, thence to Adelaide and Edithburgh to complete loading for Bluff,- Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. \ MAKURA FOR WELLINGTON. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Makura. from San Francisco and Wellington, reached Sydney at 5 a.m. on Saturday. She will leave Sydney to-day for Wellington, is due there on Monday morning, and will pay off and lay up for overhaul and survey. KALINGO WITH AUSTRALIAN CARGO. The Kalingo,, from Clarence River. Newcastle, and Sydriev, was due at Auckland yesterday, thence to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Greymouth to complete discharge. ABEL TASMAN FROM AUSTRALIA. The steamer Abel Tasman, with general cargo and hardwood poles from New South Wales ports, left Auckland on Tuesday for Wellington, Picton, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, arid W’cstport to complete discharge. She is duo at Dunedin early next week. MATAROA LEAVES BALBOA. The Slataroa, ell route from Southampton to Wellington, Lyttelton,' and Port Chalmers, left Balboa last Saturday morning; She Is due at Wellington on May 23. WAIHEMO FROM PACIFIC COAST, The Union Company’s steamer Walhcmo is to sail from Los Angeles . on May 16 for Auckland, Napier, W’cllington, Lyttelton, Dunedin,. and Australia. She is due at Auckland about June lit. PORT HUNTER LEAVES PANAMA. The Fort Hunler, cn route from London, left Panama on the morning of May 6. She is due at Auckland on May 27, and will complete discharge at Wellington and Napier. TAPTI FROM NEW YORK. The Taptl is to sail from New York on June 12 for Aucklind,. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. KARETU TO LAY UP. The Union Company’s cargo steamer Karetu. which arrived at Auckland on Tuesday from Westport, will lay up at the northern port. AT HOOK OF HOLLAND. The Port Nicholson, which left Wellington on Starch 24 for Hook of Holland, London, and west coast ports, via Montevideo, arrived at Hook of Holland on May 4. WANGANELLA BERTHED. . (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 9. A hoary southerly, accompanied by high seas, delayed the W’anganella, which arrived last night. She was to have berthed at 7 a.m. to-dav, but the high seas in the harbour made it difficult, and the tug Tola had to assist her. She was tied up an hour late, and with her bow to the south for the first time during the 17 months that she has been calling here. ROTORUA’S CHANGED SCHEDULE. The Rotorua, which had to put to sea because of bad weather when loading at Tokomaru Bay, reached Auckland la’st Sunday night. She was to sail yesterday for Napier, and will complete at, .Wellington, which port she is scheduled to leave on Slay 19 for London, via Panama. CANADIAN PIONEER SOLD. Canadian Pioneer, steel steamer, two decks. 8375 tons d.w., built Canadian Vickers. Ltd., Montreal. 1919, S.S. No. 2, 1927. owned by Canadian Pioneer, Ltd. (Canadian National Steamships), Montreal, has been sold to valdemar Skogland, Haugesnnd. She Is lying at Halifax. N.S. CARGO FROM LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company's cargo steamer Hororata is to leave London to-day for Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and New Plymouth, via Suva. She Is due at Lyttelton on June 28. The Shaw. Savill, and Albion steamer Kumara U to sail from London on May 30 for Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff. She is due at Lyttelton about July 7. TARANAKI ARRIVES FROM LONDON The Shaw. Savill, and Albion’s Company’s motor ship Taranaki arrived off Otago Heads at 7.45 a.m. yesterday from London, via Colon, Panama.- and Suva after a voyage which was marked by very bad weather. The ship, after being granted pratique, came to Dunedin and was berthed at the \ ictona wharf to discharge a large quantity of Home cargo The • Taranaki left London on the morning of March 29, and encountered very bad weather In the Atlantic. She arrived at Colon on April 12, and cleared Balboa on April 13- The vessel made a fast run to Suva where she arrived at noon on May 1, discharged 1150 tons of cargo, and left at noon on May 3. Moderate weather was experienced for the greater part of the voyage between Suva and Dunedin, -but during the last two days she was delayed by heavy southwest gales and high seas. Her- speed, In consequence, was considerably reduced, resulting in the vessel. arriving one day late. Captain J. W. Johnson is in command of the Taranaki, and his officers are as follows: Chief Mr R. Oplhl has been delayed In the north owing to bad weather. She is now due at Dunedin on May 16 to load for Wellington, Nelson, and Now Plymouth.
