The Adelaide Cup resulted as follows: — SIR ROSELAND, 6.10 (Godby) .. 1 ST. MARY, 6.9 (Kite) 3 MAJARDO, 7.13 (Mules) .. .. .. 3 Won by two lengths, with a length and a-half between second and third. Time, 2min 46sec. THE ASCOT MEETING. _ SYDNEY, May 9. (Received May 9, at 11.30 p.m.) At the'Ascot midweek races to-day in the first division of the Flying Handicap Headmaster 6.13 (Parsons) and Cinema 7.7 (Knox) ran a dead heat for first, with Captain John 7.5 (Ross) third. Eight started. Time, Imin 16sec.
