ANNUAL CONFERENCE OPENED (Peb United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 7. The fifty-first annual conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute was opened to-day. The Mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop), welcoming the delegates, said that the matters to be considered included the school entrance age, the proposed abandonment of the original three years’ course in intermediate schools, maintenance of salaries,’and the positions of teachers and superannuation.
