VATICAN . AND GERMANY . SOLUTION DIFFICULT. LONDON, April, 19. Negotiations between the German Government and the "Vatican to fill the numerous blanks in the:draft.Concordat will be resumed immediately in Rome, says the correspondent of The Times. Inquiries in reliable Vatican quarters reveal that no important new developments are expected in the near future. A solution, is still difficult owing to the Germain Government’s refusal either to approve or condemn a list of recognised Roman Catholic associations drawn up by the bishops under the Concordat, while the Vatican fears that grave disabilities will be imposed upon Catholics if Germany insists on a complete separation of Nazi arid Catholic organisations. The report that the Pope is preparing to recall the Papal Nuncio from Berlin is deprecated. It is felt that he is not likely to take the initiative and break off relations. Without applying for admission to the Roman Catholic Church, 400 German Evangelical pastors have addressed a memorial to the Pope urging him to intervene, says the Berlin correspondent of the News-Chronicle, The pastors appeal to the Pope to organise the defence of Christianity against the Nazi neo-pagans. Nazi church governors are. proceeding to take disciplinary proceedings against some of the petitioners who assert that the differences between the Christian denominations should be bridged in view of the German menace to religion.
