G. It. V. —lt Is absurd to write of a “ hold-up ” and of boxes being rudely pushed at passers-by. W. P. M., Gore.—The Worksop Extended Dredging Company’s claim is on Antonio’s Creek, Mawhoralti Subdivision, about seven miles from Ileefton. Further information could be obtained from the secretary, 203 Commerce Buildings, Christchurch. In addition to the Bendigo Goldllght Company’s dredge at present under construction, the Lower Molyneux Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., is In process of flotation, the proposal being to use the 222 dredge to work the claims on the river between Beaumont and the Waltahuna River. An area in the vicinity of Lowburn has recently been taken over for the purpose of testing by bores. The Nevis Diesel Electric Dredging Company Is at work on the Nevis, the Goldfields Dredging Company Is on the Lower Shotover, and the Bell Ranfurly Electric Dredging Company has just been registered. “ Bishop,” Matakanul. —If the world Is taken as a circle, with a circumference of 25,000 miles, and a baud Is placed around It with a clearance of one yard over the whole distance of the circle the length of the band would ba 6 2-7 yards greater than the circumference of the earth.
