RUGBY LEAGUE
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS' CLUB The annual meeting of the Christian Brothers Rugby League Football Club was held last night in St. Patrick’s Social Club rooms, South Dunedin. The president (Mr W. Holloway) was in the chair. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the chairman said the club enjoyed a successful season, and the playing members were to be congratulated on their performances in winning both the Ellis and Maxwell Cups, going through both competitions unbeaten. Although the expenses for the season had been exceptionally high, the club had a satisfactory credit balance. He urged members to display the same keenness on and off the field during the coming season. New recruits were wanted to replace the positions left vacant by retiring members. A second team was worthy of consideration. The thanks of the club were due to Mr W. Lindsay for his services as coach during last season, and to all those who had assisted in any way. The chairman made special reference to the good work carried out by the secretary (Mr C. M. Walsh), and complimented the club on having such a reliable man to manage its affairs.
The report and balance sheet were adopted. _ Mr F. Turnbull referred to the services rendered to the club by Mr J. Brennan, who had been one of the delegates to the Otago League for several years.
