CHINESE RAILWAY
THE SOVIET’S INTERESTS
PURCHASED BY JAPAN.
SHANGHAI, March 14.
Reports emanating from Harbin indicate that Japan has purchased the Soviet interests in the Chinese Eastern railway for 35,000,000 yen. Though Soviet and Manchukuo circles are not prepared to confirm this, there are obvious signs that an amicable solution has been reached, whereby Manchukuo will be permitted to operate the line unhampered.
