The John was docked at Port Chalmers yesterday to have a new propeller fitted. She will return to Dunedin to-day to load general cargo, and will sail this evening for New Plymouth and Port Waikato, via -ports. The Holmdale, which is due at Dunedin this morning from Wellington, Is timed to sail this evening for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui, via ports.

The Walplata is due at Dunedin to-day from Auckland, via ports, to discharge general cargo. She will sail this afternoon for Bluff. The Storm is due here this morning from Bluff to load general cargo. She is timed to sail this evening for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. via portal The Gale Is due at Dunedin to-morrow from Wellington. She will sail to-morrow evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Having discharged the Dunedin portion of her general cargo from New York and Philadelphia, the steamer Wlrral sailed yesterday morning for Sydney to complete discharge. The Union Company advises that the Oplhl Is to leave Wellington to-day for Dunedin. She will load here on Friday and sail the same day for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth, via ports.

The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Rangitata, which sailed from London on Thursday, is due at Auckland on April 11. The Port Nicholson has been further delayed In loading by bad weather at Napier, She will nut now leave there before to-morrow, and Is due at Wellington on Friday to complete. On March 19 she will clear Wellington for Hook of Holland, London, and West Coast ports, via Montevideo.

WAIKOUAITI LEAVES SYDNEY. The Union Company advises that the Walkoualti left Sydney on Saturday evening with general cargo for discharge at Bluff, Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton and Oamaru. The freight includes transhipments ex the Orford, Otranto, Strathnaver, Nleuvv Zeeland, Changte, Troja, Barrabool, and Toulouse. The Walkoualti is due at Dunedin on Friday. HOLMGLEN TO RESUME. The motor vessel Holmglen, which Is undergoing repairs at Lyttelton, is expected to be ready for sea to-day. She has'.been fixed to load at Dunedin on Friday or Saturday for Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. TAMAROA’S MOVEMENTS. Tho Shaw, Savlll and Albion Company’s liner Tamaroa Is due at Port Chalmers to-day from Lyttelton to discharge the remainder of her cargo from London, She will commence Homeward loading at Port Chalmers, and will proceed later to Tlmaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, being due at the last-mentioned port on March 24. The vessel Is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington at daybreak on April 4 for Southampton and London, via tho Panama canal. KIA ORA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill steamer Kia Ora Is due at Timaru to-morrow from Sydney to commence Homeward loading. She will also load at Oamaru, Bluff, and Port Chalmers. The vessel Is due at this port on March 27, and will sail finally on March 29 for London, via Montevideo and Tenerlffe. PORT WELLINGTON LEAVES LONDON. The Port Wellington left London on March 9 for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Bluff. She Is due at Wellington on April 15 to commence discharge. RANGITANE FROM ENGLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received a radio message from the liner Rangltane reporting that she expects to arrive at Auckland at 6 a.m. to-morrow. The vessel left London on February 8. Trials have been run by the twin-screw cargo motor ship Toulouse, built at the Deutsche Werke, Kiel, for Messrs Wilhelm Wllhclmsen, Oslo. The vessel Is of the open shelter-deck type, with approximate main dimensions 470 ft length, 60ft breadth, and 43ft moulded depth. The cargo carrying capacity on summer freeboard Is 10,500 tons d.w., and she conforms In most respects to tho design of the seven vessels previously constructed at tho Kiel yard for the Wilhelmsen fleet. A special feature Is tho unusual stern form. The design has been evolved by the builders after careful study of tho requirements of this type of vessel, and It is claimed that a substantial reduction is made in resistance when under way. The propelling machinery consists of two eight-cylinder four-stroke single-acting compressorless Diesel engines of the yard’s own construction, developing about 6800 I.h.p. at 115 r.p.m. and giving tho vessel a speed of 15i knots.
