TELEGRAMS

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 6. In the Supreme Court hie Honor Mr Justice MacGregor decided against the Public Trustee and in'favour of the holders of Thames Borough debentures in regard to a difference of opinion as to the method to.be adopted in the repayment of sinking funds. His Honor said it was clear that if he adopted the pooling method the result would be startling and very unwise. In some cases he thought that instalments that had been raised were distinct loans, and for that reason he adopted the individual system in preference to the pooling method. The pooling method would work an injustice, but the individual method would not. A statement of accounts of the National Band Contest held in Wellington recently shows that the net profit was about £l3O, which will be handed over to the New Zealand Brass Bands' Association by the Band Contest Society, in keeping- with the' terms agreed upon.
