TROTTING
/;..;.' B» SRKTIirgL. , \ Acceptances for the Wyndh&m Trotting Club's annual meeting are due on Friday. ..•;-,.. Taking a line through his form at New Brighton, where he went 3min 36 4-ssec to hnish third, Prince Harvester should be hard to beat from a 3min 46aec mark at Timaru on Saturday. Agile registered a Verr easy win in the March Handicap at Wellington. He was in second place at the end of hal( a' mile, and' taking charge before a mile had been completed, he stayed on to score with a good deal in hand by two lengths. Agile won in good style at Forbury in January, and he promises to add to his list of successes before the season is concluded. >"*• ' The four-year-old,mare Waress led all the' way to register an ea*y win in the R A. Armstrong Memorial Handicap at the Wellington meeting. Although the race was uninspiring, the winner's was an impressive performance, and it is one that will gain her friends for future occasions. . She is a member of the Man o' War tribe, and she is at home on any kind of going and over any distance. : Goldworthy is the latest addition to G.. Mouritz'e stable, but the Australian train has a big task before him to win a race with the speedy but erratic daughter of Guy .Parrish. A change of trainers often brings results, and possibly Mouritz may get good results. • The Maniototo Racing Club, which will -hold its annual fixture at Waipiata on March 17, has received a handsome silver cup irom R. Wjlson and Co., and this will be held by the winner of the Weir Memorial Trot, The trophy will be competed for at each meeting until one owner wins it twice. ' Germanicus was lame when he pullea up after contesting his second race at Wellington. The six-year-old trotter gave two good, displays at Hutt Park. He is a good stayer,' and if J. J. Kennerley can get him sound enough to stand a preparation he will, win further races with him. The four-year-old pacer Match King is not improving in the manner that wa9 anticipated, and he cannot be depended upon to go true all the way. He has plenty of Bpeed, and if. L. F. Berkett can induce him to pace solidly he would soon win a race or two with him.: C. S. Donald took the three-year-old gelding Blondie to Wellington, but the eon of Jack Potts showed nervousness, the result of a fall he had last year. After being slow away, he paced kindly, and when properly seasoned he promises to reward his owner for his patience. Eddystone gave further proof of his ability by winning the Waihora Park Handicap at Banks Peninsula from end to end. He was doing his work easily throughout, and never looked like getting beaten. ■' Although she finished in the money a couple of times at Wellington, Irish Peach did not impress as being above the average. On her first attempt she tired when she appeared to have her race won, and in her second race she was pacing bally. Bingen Palm is a fine stamp of horse. but he did not prove capable of getting on the winning list at Wellington. He was well beaten at his first attempt, but improved to run third later in the day. Bingen Palm has some very attractive Coast performances to his credit, and has still .time to prove that he is as good as his admirers claim him to be.
