♦ ♦ • The Hillend branch held its first meeting of the year last Wednesday afternoon at Mrs Findlay’s home, Mrs Stewart presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs Stewart spoke feelingly of the loss they had sustained through the death of their late Vice-president (Mrs Clarkson); all members stood in silence as a tribute of respect to their late member., The president referred to the correspondence course which the Farm Accounting Association now had available, and asked members to commend it to their husbands and sons. The roll call, "The Happiest Day Spent During the Holidays,” was well responded to. A popular competition was keenly contested, Mrs M*Millan proving the winner of the prize. The president then took the opportunity, on behalf of members, of wishing Miss Betty Wallace, a junior member, who is to be inarried shortly and is leaving the district, the best of luck and happiness in the future, and asked her to accept a Pyrei dish as a small token from fellow-members. The best of wishes were also extended to Miss F. Jefferson, another junior member, who has accepted a position elsewhere, both girls suitably replying. 1
