VITAL STATISTICS

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—l have scanned the “Vital Statis. tics ’’ item every month for years, but have never been quite sure to what area the figures referred. I made a point the other day of asking several readers, and their replies included “the whole Dominion,” “ Otago district,” and“ Dunedin and suburbs.” Would it not be an advantage to your readers if you mentioned the district covered by the return?—l am, etc., 1 Vmt.

[The figures relate to the city of Dunedin and the districts between Sawyers Bay and Green Island, including the Otago Peninsula.—Ed., O.D.T.]
