PICNIC
LABOUR PARTY BRANCHES. The Dunedin South and Green Island branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held their combined annual picnic at Chisholm Park. A cricket match and a tug-of-war between the two branches created a great deal of interest. The Dunedin South branch was again the winner of the cricket shield, and this year it. was also successful in -winning the tug-of-war shield. The cup for the Ladies' Relay Race was retained by the Green Island branch. A programme of races was carried out during the afternoon, and the prizes were presented by Mr F. Jones, M.P. Consolation Race (girls)—M. Ruth 1, M. Nash 2. Consolation Race (boys): S. Armstrong 1, W. Armstrong 2. Single Ladies' Race: M. Fitzgerald, A. Middlemass 2. Single Men's Race: Mr Jeffery 1, Mr F. Jones, jun., 2. Married Ladies' Race: Mrs Vance 1, Mrs Anderson 2. Married Men's Race: Mr Middlemass 1, Mr Ward 2. Married Ladies' Consolation Race: Mrs Dickson 1, Mrs Lawless 2.
