RODEO AT RANFURLY
The weather for the rodeo at Ranfurly was warm, and there was a goad attendance, of the public. The calf-riding com-! petition-for boys drew an entry of 14. The calves proved to be suitably fractious and with the exception of E. Cooper, who gave, a fine exhibition of riding, all the juveniles bade speedy audieusto their mounts/There were 25 entries for the •steer riding, in which the steers bucked well. Exhibitions were given by R. Mills and by G. Rowan, the promoter of the rodeo,, and these two also rode buckjumpers during the afternoon. The bucking donkey proved too cunning for about 15 small boys, who were quite unable to hold their seats. ■• ' ' '■' Results:— V Calf Riding—E„ Cooper 1, S. Hore 2, M. M'Ooy 3.. .£ ];J ; " •- .
