WARLIKE AFRIDIS
ADDRESSED BY GOVERNOR A PLEDGE OF LOYALTY. CALCUTTA, February 24. (Received Feb. 25, at 9 p.m.) At a meeting of 5000 warlike Afridis, addressed by Sir Ralph Griffith, Governor of the North-west Frontier Province, the tribesmen’s spokesman pledged loyalty to the Government, and said that they were formulating proposals for economic improvement.
