AMATEUR ATHLETICS
INTERCLUB SCRATCH MEETING. The second series of interclub scratch amateur athletic meetings will be staged at the Caledonian Ground to-morrow afternoon under the auspices of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, and with 12 clubs taking part in the scratch events, and two others also represented, interesting and well-varied competition is promised. Running, hurdling (high and low hurdles), javelin throwing, shot putt, high and long jumps, and walking events are all included in both A and B grades, and two cycling handicaps will also he decided. Ladies’ races are included on the programme. Athletes have been regraded as follows : —From B to A grade—loo yards, J. Ramsay (Caversham) ; 440 yards, A. J. Lecden and J. Lothian (Civil Service) ; one mile, E. C. Brown • (Civil Service) ; 120 yards hurdles, J. H. Ramsay (Caversham) and J. H. Meek (Anglican) ; 220 yards hurdles, G. Garbutt (Civil Service) ; high jump, W. M’Gregor (Cargill Road) ; javelin, T. M’Donald (Anglican), F. C. Lovelock (St. Patrick’s) , and K. Miller (Caversham) ; shot putt, J. M. Meek and B. Blue (Anglican).
