CHRISTMAS EVE TRAINS

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l have enjoyed the thrills of travelling from Dunedin by one of the 6 o’clock trains to Invercargill, and shall not readily forget the trip, which concluded at approximately: 1.30 a.m. one Easter. If the department will despatch a train from , Dunedin on December 23 at approximately 2 o’clock so as to arrive at Invercargill in the vicinity of 6 or 7 there will, I feel confident, be ample support to warrant such a move on its part. May I suggest that all would-be Christmas travellers bound for Invercargill bombard the local station master’s office with inquiries, either written or oral, each day for the next two weeks, in an endeavour to obtain such a rearrangement of the train allocation as, in my opinion, is only reasonable? —I am, etc., Bbiohtligiits. Dunedin, December 9.
