SCOTT'S “TALISMAN”

MANUSCRIPT FOUND IN MOSCOW MOSCOW, December 7. The manuscript of Sir Walter Scott’s “Talisman,” which had been lost since it was sold by auction for £IOOO in 1868, was found in the archives of the Historical Museum here. “ The Talisman ” is the second of Sir Walter Scott’s “ Tales of the Crusaders.” Published with “ The Betrothed” in June, 1925, it is a story of the adventures of Richard I in the Holy Land, and is characterised by the masterly development of its plot and the brilliancy of its scenic colouring.
