WAIKOUAITI NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIKOUAITI, December 1. SUNDAY SCHOOL ENTERTAIN- ■ MENT. I Under the direction of Mrs Potts, assisted by Misses Summers and Sandford, as accompanists, an entertainment was given by the members bf the Presbyterian Sunday School which thoroughly pleased the large audience which gathered for the occasion. The* programme was as follows: —Pianoforte duet, Misses Sandford and Wilfred Kerr; chorus, “Welcome,” girls; chorus, Bible class boys; chorus, “ Sleepy Heads,” girls; recitation, Alwya Nichol; duet and chorus, Miller Nichol, Clifford Heenan and Bible class boys; recitations, Alwyn - Hallum and Douglass Holland; chorus, Bible class boys; recitation, Helen Payne; song and chorus, Maurice Aitchieson and Bible class boys; duet, Nancy M'Dougall, and. Myrtle -Wilson; pianoforte : Solo, Wilfred Kerr; solo and chorus; Miller Nichol and Bible class boys; chorus, “Bush Song,” recitation, Margaret Turnbull; dialogue, Bible class boys; quintet, Hazel and Alwyn Hallum, Alma and' Zona Fry and Dorothy Hallum; pianoforte solo, Alwyn Nichol; chorus, Sunday school' children, “I Am Getting Better Every Day ”; recitations, Rose Macnean; song and chorus, Clifford Heenan and Bible class boys; violin solo, J. M’Dougall; dialogue, girls; chorus, Bible class boys, “ John Brown. ”; recitation, Ivan Wilson. Previous to the presentation of prizes, which were provided by Mr William Lee; Clifford Heenan presented Mr Lee with a Church Praise, as a token of the esteem of the Bible class boys and in gratitude for the interest he had taken in the class. After thanking the boys for their gift, which,-he assured them,, would be greatly treasured; Mr Dee ex-, pressed his thanks to Miss Summers for her assistance in the. musical part of the Bible class boys’ work on Sunday mom-’ ings. Miller Nichol, also on behalf of the Bible class boys, made a presentation to Miss Summers in appreciation of, the work which had just been so warmly praised by Mr Dee. At the Close of the programme the Mayor (Mr Andrew Fell) spoke in. appreciation of the work of thcteachers of the Sunday school' and of those who had been responsible for such an enjoyable programme. The Rev. T. W. Potts was chairman of the meeting, and ladies of the church provided supper. .
