WORKS COMMITTEE'S REPORT ’ The Works Committee will report af follows at.the meeting of the Dunedin Drainage Board on Wednesday night next: — v Authority has been granted to take the necessary steps, pursuant to the board's Acts, for the construction of a dram-in-common by the board, under contract, for the purpose of serving allotment 11, block 11, Clydehill, in conjunction with allotments 8,9, 10, 12, and 13, the cost of the work to be apportioned amongst tbe i owners of the sections . served. Foul drainage is urgently required in this locality, but the owners of the allotments concerned have not, been able to agree amongst themselves as to the proceeding of the work. . Authority has been granted the drainage engineer to proceed with the reconstruction of portion of the 12-inch foul sewer in David ' street, near 'Porbury Corner, which collapsed on November 2. It is not possible to give an estimate of tbe cost .- at present, as tlye. full extent of tbs damage cannot be ascertained.until further iuvesigation can been carried out. The cost will be a charge against the Renewal Fund. Authority has been granted to take the necessary. steps, pursuant to' the board’s . Acts, to notify owners of allotments 19 - and 20, block IV, Cavereham extension, of the ~ board’s . , intention to carry out drainage work in their respective properties for -the purpose of remedying defects in the existing drain-in-common serving such properties. The cost will bo a charge against the board. In view of the default of the owners to comply with terms of notice served upon them, dated November 7, to remedy ‘ nuisance caused by surface water from right-of-way adjoining their premises at the rear of the Roman Catholic Church v building.
