(Received Nov. 25, at 5 p.m.) A Scots Guardsman, Albert Lorrimer, who walked from Loudon to Aberdeen to fetch a uniform to save the cost of postage, was court-martialled at Chelsea to-day on charge of absence from his regiment. Lorrimer explained that when he returned to London after his leave at Aberdeen he decided not to rejoin the regiment, but realised that he had left his uniform behind. : He walked to Aberdeen to fetch it as he possessed only nine shillings. Asked why he did not request that the uniform should be posted, Lorrimer said he thought it would be cheaper to do the walk, which occupied • four weeks, after which he surrendered.
