PROFESSOR O’CONROY

Professor O’Conroy is seriously 511 owing to anxiety concerning his wife, who is still in Japan, where the public are reported to be subjecting her to hostility because of statements in Professor O’Conroy’s book. Professor Taid O’Conroy, formerly of the Keio University, Japan, who served with the British Navy, spent many years in Japan, and he married into an aristocratic Japanese family. Tn his book, “ The Manace of Japan,” be describes Japanese men as ruthless, lustful, and treacherous, and bo says; “They will slowly carry out their plans. They will 1 first * subjugate the East unless the i Powers step in. Japan’s word is worth- | less. She is working at top speed toj ward war, and she will soon march on , China. She will advance over the whole of Asia and invade the islands of the South Seas if she wishes to do so, | putting the inhabitants to the sword 1 without giving mercy.”
