• The motor vessel Port Waikato arrived at Dunedin early yesterday morning from Sydney and Port Stephens, via Tlmaru, Lyttelton, and Bluff. She discharged hardwood poles and loaded general cargo. The Port Waikato sailed shortly after midnight for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington to complete loading for Taurflnga, Auckland, and Whangarel. The Bluff Harbour Board’s tug Awarua, having completed her overhaul, came out of dock at Port Chalmers on Thursday afternoon. She sailed early yesterday morning for Bluff. The Wlngatul sailed yesterday afternoon for Bluff. She is due back at Dunedin tomorrow, and will load general cargo on Monday, and sail the same day for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The motor vessel Holmglen has been fixed to load at Dunedin on Monday for Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. The Tothra is duo at Dunedin on Monday from Westport to discharge coal and load general cargo. She Is timed to sail on Monday night for Wellington and New Plymouth, via ports. The Storm will load at Dunedin on Monday for Tlmaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. ' , The motor ship Maul Pomare Is scheduled to leave Wellington on Tuesday for Apia and Niue Island. She Is expected to return to Lyttelton on November 27. During the month of October 109 trading vessels, representing 122,390 tons net register, entered the port of Lyttelton. For the same month last year 105 vessels, representing 139,218 tons net register, visited the port. The Monowal, which arrived at Auckland last Monday afternoon from Sydney, brought transhipments from the following vessels; — Moldavia, Kowarra, Orungal, Cralgend, Coolena, Ormlston, Talune, Marella, Peru, Barrabool, Orontes, Nankin, Esqulllno, Erldun, Manunda, Tourcolng, Atsuta Maru, Caasterkerk, Brisbane Maru. She Is to leave Wellington to-day for Auckland, Tokomaru Bay, and Napier to complete loading. The Rotorua will sail finally from Napier on November 17 for London, via the' Panama canal.

WAIKOUAITI’S ITINERARY. The Union Company advises that the Waikoualtl has been fixed to load at Newcastle on November 8 and Sydney on November 10 for Bluff, Dunedin, Tlmaru, and Lyttelton. She Is due at this port about November 15. TAINUI FROM ENGLAND. With passengers, mails, and cargo, the Shaw, Savill liner Tainul was scheduled to leave London yesterday for Auckland and Wellington. She Is due at Auckland on December 11. MOTOR SHIP PORT CHALMERS. Advice received by Messrs J. W. Swift and Co. states that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s new motor ship Port Chalmers is scheduled to leave London on her maiden voyage on January 9 for Australia. The vessel’s discharging ports will bo Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, and Launceston. RANGITATA AT LONDON. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rangltata arrived at London on November 2 from Auckland. The vessel left the northern port on September 29. RANGITANB AT COLON. ' The motor liner Rangltane, en route from London to Wellington, arrived at Colon on November 2. The vessel Is due at Wellington on November 22. ( WINTON FROM NEW YORK. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer Winton, en route from New York and Gulf of Mexico ports, arrived at Auckland on Thursday. She will later complete discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia, and Is expected here about November 10. GALLIC AND DELPHIC SOLD. News received in Wellington states' that the well-known White Star Line steamers Gallic, 7912 tons, and Delphic, 80,00 tons gross register, both built In 1918, have been sold to the Clan Line Steamers, Ltd. NEW B.P. MOTOR SHIP. Messrs Burns, Philp, and Co.’s new motor ship Maialta, which was recently launched at Glasgow, sailed from that port on October 21 for Middlesbrough. She was to have left Middlesbrough on October 25 for Singapore, Rabaul, Samaral, Townsville, Brisbane, and Sydney. The Maialta is 3300 gross tonnage, and will later be employed In the Island trade. WANGANELLA FOR HOBART. A special cruise by the Wanganella Is to bo made from New Zealand to Hobart. The vessel will leave Wellington on December 22 for Sydney, arriving there on Christmas Day and sailing next day for Hobart. Hobart will be reached at 8 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, and at 8 p.m, the Wanganella will leave for Melbourne. She is due at Melbourne on December 30, and will leave the same day on her trip back to Sydney, arriving at Sydney on Monday, January X. This will be the first occasion for over 10 years on which a passenger liner from New Zealand has called at Hobart.

EXCURSIONS TO PICTON. The following excursion trips to Pioton hare been arranged by the Union Company:—The Wahlne will leave Wellington on Tuesday, December 26, and the' Rangatlra on Monday, January 1. Departure time from Wellington will be 8 a.m., and the return trip from Plcton will commence at 2.30 p.m. An excursion from Plcton to IVellington will take place on Wednesday, December 27. The Tamahine will leave Plcton at 7 a.m., and will leave on her return trip from Wellington at 5 p.m. CHRISTMAS FERRY TIME-TABLES. As far as the Welllngton-Lyttelton ferry service is concerned there will he no special sailings during the Christmas and New Year holiday period. The Rangatira and Wahlne will maintain their ordinary time-table. A schedule of sailings for the Tamahine, between Monday, December 18, and Saturday, January 6, has been drawn up. Times of sailing both from Wellington and Picton will be irregular during the period. After January 7 the Tamahine’a summer timetable will be: From Wellington, Monday, Weddcsdav Friday. 2.45 p.m., Saturday, 1.15 p.m. From' Picton: Tuesday, Thursday, 2.45 p.m., Friday, 0 p.m., Sunday, 6 p.m. Special sailings for the Matangi and Arahura 'have been arranged between December 22 and January 2. The Arahura will return to the Wellington -Nelson service in about three weeks’ time, relieving the Kaitoa. ■ No sailings either to Picton or Nelson have been arranged for Christmas Day.

WAIPAHI TO REPLACE KARETU. The Walpahl, which has been laid up at Auckland for over a month, la to be recommissioned to replace the Karetu In the Auck-land-Fljl-Tonga service during the summer months. The Walpahl’s first trip Is to be taken to supply fruit for the Christmas trade. The Karetu will be withdrawn from the service after she arrives at Auckland from Tonga and Fiji on November 7. The Walpahl Is scheduled to leave Auckland on November 15, Sydney on November 22, Lautoka on December X, Suva on December 2, Nukualofa on December 4, Suva on December 7, arriving back at Auckland on December 13. Thereafter she will run a monthly service to the Islands. . VESSELS FOR HOMEWARD LOADING. The Shaw, Savlll Company advises that the liner Akaroa, at present cn route from London and Southampton to Auckland and Wellington, has been fixed to commence Homeward loading at New Plymouth on November 21. She will later complete at Bluff, Wellington, and Auckland. The vessel Is scheduled to clear Auckland finally at daybreak on December 13 for Southampton and London, via the Panama canal. •

The Pakeha Is duo at Gisborne on November 22 from Australia to commence loading, and will later complete at Wellington, Bluff, Port Chalmers, and Napier. She is due here about December 5, and Is to clear Napier finally on December 15 for London, via Magallanes and Montevideo. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the motor liner Rangltano, now cn route from London to Wellington and Auckland, will commence loading during discharge at Auckland on November 28. She will later complete at Napier. Lyttelton, and Wellington.
