BOXING

THE BUCKLEY-RAYNER BOUT. On Monday night, in the Town Hall, Charlie Buckley, of Dunedin, will meet Clarrie. Rayner, of Blenheim, and the bout is creating considerable interest among local boxing enthusiasts. Buckley is credited with having shown marked improvement since joining the professional ranks, and he is punching much harder. Rayner won the feather-weight title at the New Zealand championships and in his first professional fight against Donkin last Saturday night he got the decision on points after a fine contest. Attractive preliminaries are being arranged.
